Kitchen Decor That Does Something

Most kitchen decor gets in the way. These pieces work differently: each one has a job — paper towel holders and wine bottle holders — and looks like something while doing it. An octopus holding a wine bottle is a bottle holder first and a conversation starter second.

Printed from PLA out of our own extrusion line, designed and made in Poland.

Paper towel holders

They stand free on the worktop and take standard rolls. There is a cat, a dog and a Christmas version. The cat holder is 31 cm tall, 23 cm long and weighs around 400 g; the Christmas one has the same dimensions and is hand-painted with acrylics.

If you usually tear off a sheet one-handed, put the holder against a wall or into a corner so it doesn't travel across the counter when you pull.

Wine bottle holders

Two designs: a dragon (24 cm tall, 21 cm wide) and an octopus (22 × 22 cm). Both turn a bottle into a display piece for the kitchen, a bar or a dining table, and both get carried around as host gifts. The dragon comes in several colours.

What doesn't work in a kitchen

PLA softens at around 60 °C, which rules out a few normal kitchen situations: not beside the hob, not above the dishwasher in the rising steam, not near an oven or a toaster. On an open worktop, on a wall or on a shelf the material is no trouble at all.

These objects are also not meant for direct contact with food. The layer structure of a printed surface can't be reliably disinfected, because residue stays in the seams. A paper roll and a closed bottle don't touch food, so here it doesn't come up.

Cleaning

Damp cloth with mild washing-up liquid, no dishwasher. The grease film that builds up in any kitchen comes off with warm water and a little detergent; for heavier soiling a soft brush along the layer lines helps.

Hand-painted pieces like the Christmas holder should only be wiped carefully — don't soak them and don't brush them, as acrylic paint won't take mechanical cleaning. Scouring cream and pot scourers leave dull scratch marks on every surface.

Colour in the kitchen

Kitchens usually run on a few tones — white, wood, anthracite. One object in a strong colour sets an accent there without changing anything else. If you want it quieter, take black or white: then the shape gets noticed rather than the colour. Available tones are listed on each product page.

As a gift

Themed kitchen accessories get given away often — housewarming, Christmas, or to someone with a cat or a dog. Because we make the filament ourselves, the same shade is still available if you reorder later.
