Materials for everyday printing

Every material in this category prints on a standard printer with a brass nozzle, without hardened components, dry boxes or specialised settings. PLA suits models and prototypes; PETG suits functional parts; ABS and ABS+ suit heat resistance and machining; ASA suits outdoor use; PLA Glitter suits decorative work. Together they cover the majority of common applications. "Basic" refers to the hardware required, not the quality of the material.

Selecting a material

Begin with PLA, move to PETG when a part must withstand heat or load, and choose ABS, ABS+ or ASA when an enclosure is available and the application requires it. Most work is well served by PLA and PETG.

Common specifications

All spools are 1.75 mm on Ø200 mm cardboard with a Ø55 mm hub and 69 mm width, from 250 g to 1.2 kg. Extruded in-house, so colour and tolerance are consistent between orders.
