FLEX TPU 90A is a flexible 3D printing filament intended for applications where flexibility is required rather than avoided. It runs on most 3D printers at reduced speed. It compresses under load, absorbs impact and returns to shape, the behaviour needed in gaskets, grips, phone bumpers, vibration dampers and RC tyres. The same parts printed in PLA would fracture on first flexing.
Shore 90A is the practical hardness for FDM printing. Softer flexible filaments (85A and below) tend to buckle in the extruder and require direct drive with a constrained filament path. At 90A the filament is rigid enough to feed reliably, including on many Bowden setups at reduced speed, while remaining genuinely flexible in use.
Print at 230–250 °C with a 50–80 °C bed. The key adjustments are speed and retraction: print slowly, at 15 to 25 mm/s, and reduce retraction to near zero. Excessive speed or retraction with flexible filament causes stringing, blobs and jamming. At appropriate settings, FLEX prints reliably.
Gaskets and seals, tool grips, protective cases, drone feet, furniture pads and durable hinges.
Eight colours: Black, Gray, Natural, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue. Spools of 300 g / 100 m, 600 g / 200 m and 900 g / 300 m.
For a first flexible print, the 300 g spool with a slow profile is a practical starting point.
